Dick Whittington

My sister Danyda is performing the story Dick Whittington on the latest episode of the Story Story Podcast!

This is the classic version of the story, which might not be super-familiar to Americans, but it is pretty well-known in England. Dick Whittington was a real person who became Lord Mayor of London in the 15th century.

There are a few different versions, though. For example, everyone in my family can tell you that the moral of the story (per my Grandpa) is Never go out without your cat!
